Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, and Spanish Baptist Church has been a welcoming first stop for countless Hispanic immigrants and newcomers since 1965. We understand the challenges of adapting to a new country — from navigating language barriers and finding employment to building a social network and understanding Canadian systems and services.
Our Newcomer Support program provides practical assistance to individuals and families as they settle into life in Canada. We offer guidance on accessing community resources, help with basic translation and interpretation needs, and connect newcomers with government and nonprofit services that can assist with housing, healthcare, and education. More than anything, we offer friendship, encouragement, and the assurance that no one has to navigate this journey alone.

Language is one of the greatest barriers that newcomers face when arriving in Canada. At Spanish Baptist Church, we recognize that effective communication is essential for integration, employment, and daily life. Our Language and Settlement Assistance program helps Spanish-speaking community members develop their English language skills through informal conversation groups, resource referrals, and community partnerships.
We also provide guidance on settlement-related matters, helping individuals understand their rights and responsibilities as residents of Ontario. Our church serves as a bridge between the Hispanic community and the broader Canadian society, fostering understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect. Through these efforts, we help our community members build confidence and independence in their new home.

Help greet visitors and new members, making everyone feel at home from the moment they walk through our doors.
Assist with planning, organizing, and running community events, cultural celebrations, and special church programs.
